I would just like to talk about what inspired me to become a photographer. Well my first reaton would be when i saw the website silversprite and his flickr photos. They inspired me to become a photographer and then a year later a blogger. So thank you. My second reason would be my likings of landscapes and were i come from berneray I get many of them.
Please tell me what your reason is for becoming a blogger and becoming what you are to this day and tell me what inspired you to do it.

a whole new star in a few years

i have just been thinking recently that my childhood has slipped away vastly in the past year. I now have to worry about grades and my new life in the future and i fear it. I feel that when i leave i may never return to my home. I guess if i do want to join the royal navy i have to accept that i will not get to see my home for a long time. But i will get to see more interesting places, the falklands, gibraltar the virgin islands and many more. so i guess things may work out in the end.

well tonight is the challuin night but unfortunately i will not be accompianing them to go around berneray. I will miss going on the challuin but i guess 11 years of going around berneray every new year is enough. It is time for me to pass on the torch to the more younger generation.

I would just like to wish you all a happy new year and wish you all the best from years to come.
I would just like to reflect on the past year, well it hasent been at all a good year for the economy with the economic downturn and the resession but it does have some advantages. For instance change has come to America with barack obama being the first african american president, i wish hime all the best and hope that he will make America a better place in the future, i have complete trust in him. 2008 was a hard year for britain with many major companies closing down, millions losing jobs but now we must look to the future.

The future holds all the answers to solve our problems and in the future we shall repair what any damage the past has done. Always look to the future, look for a better future because i beleive that the future holds alot more, imagine what we could accomplish, end poverty, end war and give.

Berneray Week

Well the summer is coming around the corner and you know what that means....Berneray Week !!!! It has now been extended to 11 days instead of 7. But i was quite dissapointed with the absense of the Knockout, Football tournament And ofcourse the boat trips to some of the nearby deserted islands. It just dosent feel the same with the absense of these events

There has been a video that i have been looking for on the internet to buy for a while now, but i have not found it. The video is called shepherds of berneray. It was shot around the late 70's and i have been looking for a video of it for sometime. If anyone knows were i could get a tape of it please leave a comment thank you.

There are two main industrys in berneray, one is crofting and the other is fishing.
Here is a picture of berneray fishermen selling at berneray harbour. They will either be selling prawns or velvet crab and in the summer they will be selling lobster.

There has been talk about a link from the island of Berneray to Harris. It has been talked about for a long time now. What i think about it is that its a load of rubbish.
This link would absolutely wreck berneray.
Berneray would become some stop off to harris if it goes ahead, and berneray would no longer be an island. So if you are against the link please leave a comment to let me know.
